Weekly meetings held at

Medstar St. Mary’s Hospital Atrium

Thursdays at 7:30AM

Leonardtown Rotary Club

St. Mary's County, Maryland

Membership in the Rotary Club of Leonardtown provides the opportunity to:

•  Become connected to our community.

•  Work with others in addressing community, national and international needs.

•  Interact with other professionals in our community.

•  Establish contacts with an international network of professionals.

•  Develop leadership skills.

•  Involve family in service efforts.

•  Make an impact upon all mankind, through humanitarian service.

Ethical Standards

Members are expected to maintain high ethical standards in both their professional and personal lives.  Additionally, members are expected to work and live by “The Rotary Four-WayTest” which states:

Of all the things we say and do…

1. Is it the truth?

2. Is it fair to all concerned?

3. Will it build goodwill and better friendships?

4. Will it be beneficial to all concerned?

Meeting Attendance

We meet in the Atrium at St. Mary’s Hospital from 7:30am every Thursday morning, with every fifth Thursday evening being our ‘fellowship’ meeting at a local bar or restaurant.  Our meetings start at 7:30am and generally last for an hour.  We ask that members attend at least 50% of meetings.   The importance of regular attendance cannot be over-stressed: members have an obligation to get to know their fellow members, and to let their fellow members get to know them. A club of committed members, with excellent fellowship, can achieve wonderful things together.  But if you are out of town on travel, Rotary Clubs all over the world will open their doors to you and you are welcome to “make up” a meeting at any another club.

Club Participation

There is an expectation to participate in most, if not all, club functions, fundraisers, activities and service projects. As members we are able to decide for ourselves what we are interested in doing and what we want our club to stand for.

As part of this global network of community volunteers, we have the full support of all Rotarians, locally, nationally and internationally.  We work closely with our District Leadership to ensure we meet criteria laid down by Rotary International, while still keeping the character of our own Breakfast Club. By having these early morning meetings in a casual setting we hope to attract those of you who have a busy lifestyle, but still want to volunteer and make an impact on our community, our region and also on the national and international level.  Through membership in Rotary you will be given endless opportunities to change the lives of those around you.
